Brevifoliol is an abundant metabolite found in the needles of the Paci
fic yew (Taxus brevifolia). Its structure has been revised such that t
he acetate and benzoate functionalities originally considered to be at
tached to C-10 and C-7, respectively, are transposed, i.e. brevifoliol
is eta,5alpha,13alpha-trihydroxy-taxa-4(20),11-diene.
