A secoiridoid glucoside, insularo-6'''-O-beta-D-glucoside, was isolate d along with 9 known compounds from the leaves of Fraxinus insularis a nd its structure was determined to be 2 on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical studies. Direct comparison of this glucoside with a known secoiridoid glucoside, oleayunnanoside, led to the conclusion that th e two were identical, and that the proposed structure 2a for oleayunna noside should be revised to 2.
