We present a theory of stress relaxation in star polymer melts with no
adjustable parameters beyond those measurable in linear melts. We inc
orporate the effect of higher Rouse modes on star arm retraction and t
he Colby-Rubinstein scaling of entanglement length within ''dynamic di
lution''. Our results for G ''(omega) compare well with experimental d
ata, with excellent agreement in shape and within a factor of 2 in tim
e and modulus scales.
