Two finishing paints were used for testing the relationship between th
e adherence and the corrosion protection of a paint. The adherence was
previously defined by three surface treatments: blasting, 60 emery pa
per and 400 emery paper polishing. It was shown that for scratched sam
ples a direct relationship between the adhesion and corrosion protecti
on is expected. However, for no-scratch samples, an inverse relationsh
ip was found.
