Abstract
An obese woman experienced opioid withdrawal-like symptoms after opiat e antagonist administration which suggests a possible hyperactivity of her opioid system. The role of the opioid system in obesity and the p ossible therapeutic role of opiate antagonists in some forms of overea ting (stress-induced obesity) are discussed.
