Abstract
Characteristics of sintered filters produced from isotropically packed particles are studied by computer simulation and by experiments using CIPed compacts. From the computer simulation results, the minimal fil ter thickness for an ideal filter is estimated to be 10 times of the p article diameter. The relationship between pore size and open porosity of the ideal filter is obtained, and is in good agreement with experi mental results.
