SPECTROFLUOROMETRIC DETERMINATION OF TRACE AMOUNTS OF TB(III) IN NITRILOTRIACETATE TIRON SOLUTION

The paper presents the results of emission spectra study of chosen ter nary Ln/NTA/Tiron systems. The system Tb/NTA/Tiron, exhibiting a very strong Tb(III) luminescence, was chosen for the spectroflourimetric de termination of trace amounts of the terbium ion. A new method for terb ium(III) determination based on the ternary complex with NTA and Tiron in alkaline medium is proposed. This metod is satisfactory for determ ination of Tb(III) in the range of 3.3x10(-9)-3.3x10(-7)mol l-1. Influ ence of an excess of other rare earths, several metal ions and anions upon the Tb(III) determination is discussed.
