Abstract
Over the past five years, several methods have been developed to alter the dynamics of chaotic systems. In this article, we review some of t hese methods with emphasis on work which demonstrates that sensitivity to tiny perturbations-the very property that makes chaotic systems di fficult to predict-can make chaotic problems ideally suited for contro l.
