Abstract
In this paper we view the landscape of analytic models for computer ne twork performance evaluation. We present the basics of network analysi s, discuss the network design procedure, and introduce some of the fun damentals of network control. Finally, we present some of the issues s urrounding the design and behavior of gigabit networks.
