Abstract
A case of cervical chondrosarcoma that recurred after incomplete excis ion is presented. The mass was removed in three stages and the involve d vertebrae were fused. Excision of the huge mass with only minor comp lications was only possible by staging the procedure. Due to the locat ion of the lesion, only marginal excision could be performed and the p atient was given adjuvant radiotherapy. No signs of recurrence have be en detected at 1-year follow-up and surgical measures to improve the f unction of the neurologically involved extremity are being undertaken.
