A limb, two-ribbon Halpha flare on June 4, 1991, associated with a whi
te-light flare and followed by an emission spray and 'post'-flare loop
s, is studied. A region of rapidly enhanced brightness at the bottom o
f the Halpha ribbon above the white-light flare is revealed. The energ
y released by the white-light flare at lambda(eff) = 4100 angstrom is
estimated to be about 1.5 x 10(28) erg s-1.
