Abstract
By assuming that the small-x structure function F2 (x, Q2) is dominate d by the pomeron, we fix its parameters to the recent NMC data at Q2 = 5 GeV2. We use it as input and calculate its evolution towards larger Q2. The result of this evolution is compared with the recent HERA dat a for the proton structure function at small x.
