D. Hollmann et al., THE INTRODUCTION OF SURFACE-RESISTANCE IN THE 3-DIMENSIONAL FINITE-DIFFERENCE METHOD IN FREQUENCY-DOMAIN, IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 41(5), 1993, pp. 893-895
A full-wave treatment or lossy three-dimensional structures using the
finite-difference method in frequency domain is presented. This accoun
ts for both, dielectric and conductor losses. By introduction of a sur
face resistance the effect of conductor losses and surface roughness c
an be modeled very efficiently. The modifications of the finite-differ
ence frequency domain (FDFD) algorithm are presented. Comparisons betw
een the conventional approach using elementary cells with finite condu
ctivity and this new discretization method with surface current cells
are given, and the advantages and limitations of the surface current m
odel are shown.
