Abstract
A questionnaire, conducted at the Faculty Affiliated Groups meeting in January 1996, demonstrated the variety of methods of data collection and retrieval currently used in community family planning clinics, tog ether with interest in standardisation. The case is made for a nationa l standardised system of data collection by all family planning provid ers to facilitate improved clinical audit and to give information to a id the planning of services and the practice of clinically effective h ealth care.
