Abstract
After an extensive review of the literature, we believe this to be the first case description of the removal of a simple testicular cyst fro m an infant. The 11/2-month-old infant was admitted to the Department of Pediatric Surgery after the mother had noticed a swelling in the ri ght testicle. The tentative clinical diagnosis by ultrasound was a cys tic formation in the testis. Alpha-fetoprotein was normal. The intrate sticular cyst was extirpated and sent for histologic examination. Preo perative imaging and diagnostic, therapeutic, and histopathologic aspe cts of this case are discussed.
