Y. Yurum et al., IDENTIFICATION OF ORGANIC SULFUR-COMPOUNDS IN SUPERCRITICAL EXTRACTS OF BEYPAZARI LIGNITE USING DECONVOLUTED DIFFERENTIAL-PULSE POLAROGRAMS, Energy & fuels, 7(5), 1993, pp. 620-624
The objective of this study was the identification of sulfur compounds
present in the supercritical ethanol/NaOH extracts of Beypazari ligni
te by deconvoluting the polarograms of the chromatographically separat
ed fractions of the extracts. Supercritical interaction between coal a
nd ethanol/NaOH was carried out using a microreactor of 15 mL capacity
. Liquid products obtained were separated by silica gel liquid chromat
ography. Differential pulse polarograms of the fractions separated wer
e measured, and the least squares curve fitting techniques were applie
d to resolve the overlapping bands in the polarograms of the lignite l
iquids. Identified compounds in the fractions were fluoranthene, 9,10-
diphenylanthracene, anthracene, dibenzyl disulfide, chrysene, thiophen
ol, phenanthrene, dibenzothiophene, and dimethyldibenzothiophene.
