Abstract
The enamel surface appearance after the use of glass ionomer cement an d a diacrylate resin for orthodontic bracket bonding was compared in a n in vivo test using scanning electron microscopy and an enamel surfac e index system. Significant alterations in the enamel surface were fou nd irrespective of the bonding procedure. The use of glass ionomer cem ent resulted however in a somewhat less affected enamel surface compar ed to the acrylate resin.
