Abstract
The osmotic volume response of human spermatozoa was determined using a method that is independent of cell shape, namely, an electron parama gnetic resonance (EPR) technique. The results yield a Boyle van't Hoff plot which is linear in the range 250 to 1500 milliosmolal (mOsm) of sodium chloride (r2 = 0.996). Thirteen percent of the isotonic water w as found to be osmotically inactive.
