A. Hoorfar et al., EFFECTS OF CYLINDRICAL CURVATURE ON RADIATION FROM A MICROSTRIP ANTENNA WITH A THICK COVER LAYER, Microwave and optical technology letters, 6(13), 1993, pp. 762-766
The fundamental radiation characteristics of a microstrip antenna on a
cylindrical substrate with a thick cover layer is investigated by usi
ng a magnetic line source model. Numerical results for the radiation p
attern and conductance are presented. It is found that certain combina
tions of curvature radius and cover-layer thickness could result in si
gnificant distortions in the pattern. Lossy dielectric material may be
used to reduce these undesired effects. (C) 1993 John Wiley & Sons, I
