Adolescent work values have historically been studied within the adult
work value framework. This paper explores the notion that adolescence
is a developmental stage, and therefore adolescent work values should
be seen within this context. Such a developmental approach is found t
o be useful in reconciling some of the discrepencies in the literature
on adolescent work values. In addition, two variables that may help e
xplain the development of adolescent work values: activity and time pe
rspective, are discussed.
