Abstract
VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) are substantially responsible for the formation of photooxidants in the troposphere. They also contribute t o the rise of ozone concentration and cause the so called summer smog. While locating the VOC sources in refineries and in the distribution of petroleum products, the various measures planned by the VOC-Commiss ion of Baden-Wurttemberg to reduce such emissions have been explained.
