G. Casalboremiceli et al., INFLUENCE OF THE REACTION MEDIUM ON THE POLYMERIZATION MECHANISM OF THIONAPHTHENEINDOLE, Synthetic metals, 60(2), 1993, pp. 105-110
The oxidative polymerization of thionaphtheneindole is investigated. I
t is found that the nature of the resulting polymer depends on the rea
ction medium: in particular with perchlorate as electrolyte, the condu
cting polymer is the product of the thionaphtheneindole oxidation; on
the contrary, in the presence of p-toluenesulfonate, the same oxidatio
n gives rise to the neutral polymer.
