Abstract
Hexaalkylguanidinium chloride displays different behavior toward carbo xylic acids depending on the acid strength. Its high catalytic activit y for the condensation of carboxylic acids with phosgene or thionyl ch loride using molecular and grafted catalyst forms is described.
