Abstract
The crude dry latex of Calotropis procera possesses a potent antiinfla mmatory activity. The antiinflammatory activity of petroleum ether, ac etone, methanol and aqueous extracts of dry latex of Calotropis procer a was tested in the carrageenan induced rat paw oedema model. All the fractions exhibited antiinflammatory activity but inhibition of oedema was found to be greatest with the acetone and aqueous extracts. (C) 1 997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
