Abstract
The process parameters of preparing optochemical pH sensors by doping sol-gel glasses were optimized. The operation range of pH sensors, the response time and the stability could be influenced by modifying the composition of the starting mixture and optimizing the thermal aftertr eatment, respectively. The response time of thin film sensors was less than 60 s and the sensitivity 0.09 pH units in the linear part of the calibration curve. Monolithic glass sensors showed an improved long-t erm stability and an increased response time.
