A case is made for counseling psychologists to become involved in effo
rts to alter the trajectories of a number of disturbing human-produced
ecological threats (i.e., deforestation, global warming, ozone deplet
ion, etc.). Some reservations that counseling psychologists might have
about becoming involved in ecocounseling psychology efforts are then
addressed. Finally, the training, expertise, and professional values t
hat counseling psychologists bring to the discussion of the fate of ou
r natural environment are elaborated.
