We have analysed the nonlinear current excited by the s-polarized inci
dent light on jellium surfaces with quantum mechanics. The microscopic
structure of the surface is also taken into account. We found that th
e current density is proprotional to del E2. The proportional coeffici
ent is related to the linear density-current response function of the
jellium surface.
