Abstract
The structure hardly changes when the cluster [Ir14(CO)27]- (1) is red uced to the dianion or oxidized to the neutral compound. The 14 Ir ato ms form a trigonal bipyramid, which contains an Ir atom at the center of every edge (see picture). The terminal CO ligands cover the metal f ramework completely.
