The present investigation was planned to study the effect of infection
and treatment method of immunization against bovine tropical theileri
osis in young bovine calves during incubation stage of infection. Elev
en calves allocated to groups A, B, C and D were used. The calves of g
roup A were immunized during incubation stage of infection and rest of
the groups served as various controls. Immunization of calves during
incubation stage of infection did not have any adverse effect. All the
immunized calves underwent mild theileriosis and withstood the lethal
challenge on day 21 of immunization. whereas all the controls died of
acute theileriosis.
