Methods and the results of investigations of the reactions with excite
d atoms and examined in the result of which are being formed electrons
with the energy exceeding that of a mean energy of the electron distr
ibution In a plasma. A special attention is given to the plasma electr
onic spectroscopy method (PESM) combining the advantages of studying e
lementary processes in a plasma with traditional electronic spectrosco
py possibilities. The data concerning a study of chemoionization react
ions with two excited atoms of inert gases, penning atoms and molecule
s ionization by metastable helium atoms, decaying of excited atoms of
inert gases and mercury by electrons are demonstrated. The problem dea
ling with the effect of processes with fast electron formation upon pl
asma properties is discussed.
