Abstract
Abstract. Basigin is a novel member of the immunoglobulin superfamily ubiquitously expressed in various tissues. We mapped the basigin gene at 19p 1 3.3, using a 1. 6-kb cDNA fragment of the gene as a probe and sequential fluorescence in situ hybridization and G-banding on human metaphase chromosomes.
