Dj. Bergstrom et Km. Boucher, NUMERICAL STUDY OF WIND FLOW OVER AN ELEVATED ROADWAY, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 46-7, 1993, pp. 135-143
The paper presents the initial results of a numerical study of wind fl
ow over an elevated roadway which is also much smoother than the surro
unding terrain. The finite volume prediction using a k-epsilon model c
losure with wall functions yields a speed-up ratio of DELTAS = 1.2, so
mewhat larger than the value of DELTAS = 0.65 measured on a wind tunne
l model. The effect of the reduction in surface roughness is almost as
great as that of the elevated geometry.
