This paper deals with an analytical approach to define the dynamic beh
aviour of a cable under vortex shedding excitation in turbulence condi
tions. The conductor is schematized by f.e.m. The time history of the
velocity field is computed in any nodal point of the schematization. T
he vortex shedding effects are reproduced by means of equivalent non l
inear oscillators.
