Abstract
This paper is focussed on the calculation of turbulent swirling fire j ets. Turbulence modeling is adressed by comparing the standard k-epsil on eddy viscosity model with the multiple time scale turbulence model, using two partitions of the turbulent kinetic energy spectrum. The re lative performance of the models is assessed for gas free jets with tw irl intensity up to 0.3. Particle laden jets are considered using a st ochastic Lagrangean model. The influence of the dispersed multisized p articles on the jet behaviour is discussed.
