Abstract
This paper presents a finite element method for the analysis of orogra phic rainfall. For the governing equations, the Navier-Stokes equation is used for the wind flow analysis, and the Kessler model is used for the rainfall analysis. The three step Taylor-Galerkin finite element method based on the linear triangular element is employed for the disc retion. This method is shown to be an effective method for the analysi s of orographic rainfall.
