The effect of vinasse on Metarhizium anisopliae spores germination ''i
n vitro'' and their survival after addition of the residue in the soil
was studied. The germination was evaluated at 8, 16 and 24 hours inte
rvals in different treatments (Vinasse pH 3.5, 6.5 and Potato/Dextrose
medium control). M. anisopliae survival in soil with vinasse was obse
rved 15 and 45 days after the soil inoculation. The results showed tha
t vinasse inhibited the germination of M. anisopliae in 55.76 and 42.6
9%, respectively, in the pH 3.5 and 6.5. The application of vinasse to
the soil artificially inoculated with M. anisopliae reduced significa
tively the number of colonies recovered and altered qualitatively the
environmental microbiota in the studied area.
