Abstract
Dissolved labile and nonlabile forms of Cd, Pb and Cu in Zuari estuary measured for a period of 14 months showed lowest concentrations durin g the SW monsoon (June-Sept.) while maximum concentrations were observ ed during the premonsoon season (Feb.-May). Results of experiments con ducted to evaluate the importance of desorption/dissolution revealed t hat the metal input due to desorption and dissolution of the particula te phase may not be very significant in the estuary.
