A case of an unusual malignant solitary pelvic tumor is presented. The
neoplastic cells were positive for keratin and epithelial membrane an
tigen. Although ultrastructural features (prominent nuclear pleomorphi
sm, abundant polyribosomes, and absence of cell junctions) were those
typically seen in large cell lymphomas, lymphoid markers were not dete
cted, and immunoglobulin heavy-chain gene and T-cell receptor beta-cha
in gene rearrangements were not identified. Combination chemotherapy r
esulted in complete remission.
