The stability constants for the formation of NpO2L and NpO2HL (L = AMP
, ADP, or ATP) have been measured potentiometrically in solutions of 0
.10 M (NaClO4) ionic strength and at 25-degrees-C. The order of comple
xation strength was ATP4- > ADP3 - > AMP2 as expected for systems with
dominant ionic interactions. The results obtained were compared to co
mplexation of the alkaline earths and trivalent lanthanide ions by the
same series of ligands.
