Abstract
The induction of Low Frequency Somatic Embryogenesis (LFSE) and High F requency Somatic Embryogenesis (HFSE) has been performed in Coffea eug enioides Moore by in vitro culture of leaf explants. From the five cul ture media (B5, MS, N30K, SH and W) assayed with similar levels of gro wth regulators only White medium conducted to somatic embryogenesis. T herefore, along with the already known influence of 2,4-D, the mineral composition of the culture medium appeared to condition the capacity of somatic embryogenesis in coffee.
