Jp. Connerade et Vk. Dolmatov, OVERLAPPING RESONANCES IN THE BETA-PARAMETER SPECTRUM, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 30(6), 1997, pp. 181-187
Symmetry reversals and fluctuations of both width and intensity have s
o far been regarded as characteristic of interacting resonances in pho
toabsorption spectroscopy. It is demonstrated for the first time that
they can also appear in the beta-parameter spectrum, which then become
s generally different in appearance from the corresponding photoioniza
tion spectrum. Indeed, not only the location of the symmetry reversals
, but even their number within a series differ between both spectra, a
nd intensity fluctuations present in one spectrum can be absent from t
he other. Our study is performed within the 'spin-polarized' random-ph
ase approximation with exchange.
