The infrared emission spectrum of DELTAupsilon = 1 bands of NaBr monom
er has been observed with a Fourier transform spectrometer. The upsilo
n = 1-0 to 5-4 vibration-rotation bands for both (NaBr)-Br-79 and (NaB
r)-Br-81 were assigned in the wavenumber range between 225 and 315 cm-
1. These infrared data combined with millimeter-wave data from the lit
erature were analyzed with a least-squares fit to a Dunham potential f
unction with only seven parameters. Omega(e)((NaBr)-Br-79) has been de
termined to be 298.7377(43) cm-1 with one standard error in parenthese
s. Thirteen Dunham Y(ij) coefficients have been derived for each of th
e two isotopic species from the Dunham potential function.
