Abstract
Different types of soil profiles (natural, disturbed, and artificial) within an urban area were identified and investigated. A new grouping or urban soils, Urban Earths, is proposed. Several morphogenetic crite ria and physicochemical properties were established that fundamentally distinguish the soils of urban ecosystems from nonurban soils.
