Abstract
Phytoplankton and its environment in a hypertrophic, gravel-pit lake n ear Madrid (Spain), were sampled at weekly intervals for a year. This is a report on some of results obtained concerning the taxonomy, pheno logy and ecology of some flagellates: Cryptomonas erosa Ehrenb., Crypt omonas erosa Ehrenb. var. reflexa Marsson, Cryptomonas marssonii Skuja , Rhodomonas minuta Skuja var. nannoplanctica Skuja, Trachelomonas his pida Stein, Trachelomonas intermedia P.A. Dang., Trachelomonas selecta Deflandre and Gymnodinium eurytopum Skuja.
