Abstract
A one-pot procedure is described for the synthesis of D,L-[2-N-15,5-C- 13]glutamic acid from 2-bromo-4-butyrolactone utilizing potassium N-15 -phthalimide and potassium C-13-cyanide as label sources. Following a two column purification procedure, the final product is obtained in 38 % yield based on the equimolar label sources.
