Abstract
Two field experiments were conducted in two citrus groves of Satsuma a nd Washington Navel cultivars. Fruit yield of Satsuma mandarin did not increase with N applications above 0,50 Kg N per tree, per year. Rate of N had no effect on leaf nutrients or fruit quality of Satsuma mand arin. Ammonium sulphate applied to the soil surface was as effective a s urea-ammonium nitrate solution applied through the irrigation water in both citrus groves.
