Abstract
It may be stated that most sensitive methods of multielemental analyse s are NAA ind ICP-MS, which are comparable as to their detection limit s. Other spectral methods discussed (FAAS, ETA-AAS, ICP-AES, XRFS) att ain less good detection limits, but are more routine in character. The advantage of ICP-MS over NAA, at approximately an equal number of det erminable elements an the ability of determining the isotopic composit ion, is its higher rate of analysis (the sample need not be activated) , and the possibility of detecting even stable nuclides and the analys is of samples of various aggregation states.
