SOLID PLASMA SURFACE OSCILLATIONS .2. PLA SMA FIELD QUANTIFICATION - PLASMONS

In this contribution the solids were approached according to the model of solid plasma consisting of electrons and ions. In the abstract of the first part the analysis of surface oscillations of solid plasma wa s related to the spectroscopy of solid surfaces. In case the wavelengt h of these oscillations is sufficiently large they may be approached c lassically (Maxwell equations, first part) while at lower wavelengths the quantum treatment is compulsory and these oscillations are regarde d as quasiparticles (surface plasmons) as below.
