Abstract
Spermatozoa of Isancistrum subulatae have an ultrastructure with two a xonemes of the 9 + 1 type, in parallel with the nucleus and one mitoch ondrion. In the released Isancistrum spermatozoa the nucleus and mitoc hondrion may have a rather circular cross-section. No cortical microtu bules were established. The ultrastructure of the Isancistrum spermato zoa thus corresponds to sperm pattern 2, according to Justine et al. ( 1985).
