Abstract
7-Methyl-isochroman (1) and 7-methyl-isothiochroman (7) are reacted to the acids 3, 9 and the related esters 5, 10 via their nitriles 2, 8. Aminoethylation in 1-position gives the compounds 6, 11, and 12. These were inactive in pharmacological screening.
